I bought this hoodie mainly for working out and running which is why I like the fact that s its a little loose, giving me that freedom in mobility. Even though I use it to workout, I also wear it just as an everyday hoodie and it also looks great. Love the colors! ... read more

We live in a richer world. But the gap between rich and poor is still very wide in individual countries. How to change this? Listen to Rob and Harry’s discussion, and learn some related vocabulary.

Thank you for sharing the great information! I will definitely be visiting this lens from time to time for sewing patterns!

Fifty years ago, on 18 March 1965, Soviet astronaut Alexei Leonov took the first space walk. Listen to Rob and Neil describing the struggles of that ground-breaking space mission whilst explaining some related vocabulary.

Yup, I am with Chris. Our HOA specifically bans hanging laundry, even in the backyard where it can t be seen! Besides, I also don t like the stiffness of line-dried clothing, and it would be my luck that I would forget it outside and some animal would do something horrible to it.

We elected to go for sunset because we are staying in Kapalua and did not want to get up at 2am for sunrise. We spent the day visiting other local attractions and headed up about 3pm. It was very cloudy and rainy going up and we had our doubts about if it was worth the trip. We had downloaded the Gypsy App for Haleakala which is a guided audio tour and it reassured us that the weather would be different at the top and it was! Sunny and clear, although the temp went from 80 down to 63 degrees at the top. The Visitors Center at the base is under construction and the one at the top is open from 10-3:30. There are restrooms at the summit. There are many switch backs and driving can be nerve racking but definitely worth the views.

This is definitely an American thing. You can always spot the americans because of the North Face jackets and the outdoor wear!

Keeping only the clothes that give me a spark of joy has allowed me to relinquish items that I've been keeping out of one kind of guilt or another —that I bought something and never really wore it, because someone else gave it to me, or because it's wasteful to get rid of something that's perfectly 'good.'

OMG! This is sooo funny! I m in seattle and no one knows how to dress anymore. We make fun of those women who wear velour track suits but is it any better to go to Starbucks all decked out in REI?

Ageing, he thought, comes about because this developmental programme, this constant change, never turns off. From birth until puberty, change is crucial: we need it to grow and mature. After we ve matured, however, our adult bodies don t need change, but rather maintenance. If you ve built the perfect house, you would want to stop adding bricks at a certain point, Walker says. When you ve built a perfect body, you d want to stop screwing around with it. But that s not how evolution works. Because natural selection cannot influence traits that show up after we have passed on our genes, we never evolved a stop switch for development, Walker says. So we keep adding bricks to the house. At first this doesn t cause much damage a sagging roof here, a broken window there. But eventually the foundation can t sustain the additions, and the house topples. This, Walker says, is ageing.

Our maternity clothes are designed to be both on trend and affordable to see you through your pregnancy in comfort and style

This is very true. However being a person from the mountains in the west and now living in the city on the east. I don t feel as foolish wearing my ski jacket and hat when people are using umbrellas to cover themselves from the snow that never even sticks to the ground. You can spot the posers, but then again maybe I look foolish to them. But I still don t have to carry an umbrealla around wherever I go. FACE!

I love outdoorsy people who think that nobody else could possibly be outdoorsy and thus should not be wearing outdoor gear. The worst culprits of this are people who work inside at gear shops and have superiority complexes

That side twisty ponytail definitely needs a tutorial to go with it are you listening, Namrata Soni ?

The webbing clothes moth is the most common fabric moth. The adult is gold with reddish-golden hairs on the top of its head. A row of golden hairs fringes its wings, which have a span of about 1/2 inch. Because these moths are weak flyers that aren't attracted to lights, you'll usually find them close to the infested items, such as in a dark area of the closet.

If your computer box has important identification material printed on the side, cut that portion from the box or take a photo. The only valid reason to keep tech boxes is if you frequently upgrade your devices and sell your used items. In that case, keeping the original packaging will probably increase their value.

What about non-white people who wear technical clothing eh? I m 1/2 yellow and 1/2 white and I wear a ridiculous amount of technical clothing. Although I always want to go camping, I m not so stupid as to think my buddy s going to call an impromptu session of hiking and paddling. I for one wear technical clothing because I m a paranoid bastard. When those zombies come, you want to be hunkered down in a makeshift shanty dressed in cotton, that retains water and chills you when the temperature drops? I think I ll stick with my technical clothing. I may look like a douche, but damn yo, how many hipsters look like douches and are just gonna be eaten by zombies because they can t run in their drainpipe jeans? Sheeit yo, it ain t just white people wearing clothing that works, that in itself is degrading to people of other shades. What, because I m 1/2 Chinese I can t be (paranoia-fuelled) practical? C mon!!

Your height is a simple biological fact that you can do little to change, yet it may be influencing your destiny in ways you didn t realise. BBC Future combed through the evidence to size up its impact on everything from your sexual allure to your bank account and your lifespan.

Great site. I know there was a post on dogs, but you just have to do one on horses too. And how people dress up for the Kentucky Derby, and love Secretariat/Barbaro/whatever more than breathing air. I ve never figured this one out. And also, all the readers/posters here who STILL have no idea what SATIRE is, or continually suggest the white people like blogs post, or think this is racist, or think that it s actually talking about every person with white skin in the entire world, do us a favor and just close the web browser before hitting Submit Comment.

I’ve posted these spectacular, quirkily arranged compilation pages before, singly, but thought they worked rather well as a set - as they were origially offered for sale when published in France in 1903.

This week, dear readers, marks something of a stunning milestone for antique-erotic, as we sail on past the utterly astonishing total of ten thousand followers! I am overjoyed that my little idea has grown into something so very many people are enjoying (as well as a tad overwhelmed), and, as ever, exceedingly grateful for your appreciation over the last couple of years - this collection’s second anniversary was attained in July. I extend my warmest gratitude to you all, every last one, and hope you never cease to find much to enjoy here, as the collection continues to grow.

The second page of this uncommonly striking publication from 1903 France - the first can be seen here - with a different selection of nude photographs, arranged and snipped into shape, and decorated with artistic flair.

The original printed page is an impressive 38 x 28cm, do click for a larger view.

Unlike Eakins, who created his own reference photographs using his friends and students to act out the required poses, Louis Jean-Baptiste Igout took artfully lit pictures of artists’ models in his studio, which were then sold to those in need of anatomical reference material. Much cheaper than hiring a life model, a great many artists and students were able to make use of these helpful prints, published by A. Calavas of France, c1880.

Printed by Calavas Freres Editeurs; 68, Rue de Lafayette, Paris.

I’m surprised to find that none of these individual images are repeats from previous sheets, though the models are definitely men we have seen before in numerous other poses in these artists’ reference pages.

Produced in Paris by A. Calavas, between 1875 and 1880, an interesting sheet of artists’ reference poses - this time featuring a pair of male models enacting varied scenes of high drama, energetic action, and restful reflection.
