About This Collection
Inspired by discovering the surprising and lovely Victorian photoshoot of which you can see one dainty little snippet above, I began searching for more - first of these two models who had so captivated and intrigued me, and soon found my curiosity growing as I looked further afield and found just what homoerotic delights were out there from the 19th and early 20th centuries. While many blogs cover vintage gay pornography right up until the 70’s and 80’s, there seemed to be few sites concentrating specifically on the era I was most interested in. So, I decided to begin my own collection - dedicated especially to the period between the pioneering early days of photography, and the First World War.
I also offer for your consideration and appreciation, my first and beloved blog -
featuring one particular Victorian pornographic photoshoot which has captured my heart, Black Stockings & White Flowers

Who am I, to be running this blog? Not an expert, by any means, no art historian, just an enthusiast - all I know is what I’ve picked up in my perusal of the places I find these pictures, taking great interest in the photographers I’ve been able to learn about, and doing my best to allocate correct credits where possible, but mistakes may occur and I welcome any corrections if I’ve quoted an unreliable source! When I started compiling this collection it was for my own amusement and that of a few friends, I had no idea it would take off the way it has and gain thousands of followers : I thank you all for your interest, your support, and your passing on the pictures you’ve found here and enjoyed. I am, by the way, no doddering old gentleman who remembers when these pictures were new, despite a decidedly Edwardian taste in waistcoats, I am in fact still just the lesser side of thirty.
Important Disclaimers
I do not own the pictures featured here, the collection does not exist on paper in my dusty cluttered attic (I don’t even have an attic, sadly - if I did it would surely be dusty and cluttered in extreme), they are simply found on Tumblr and other corners of the vast and varied library which is the internet. If you own copyright on any of these pictures, do not hesitate to let me know and I will remove them forthwith!

This blog is, by its very nature, unsuitable for children - though many of the pictures are utterly gentlemanly gentlemen behaving most decorously, there are among the pages some explicit sexual shenanigans which would be quite quite shocking to innocent eyes, and I do not wish to cause consternation or distress, so if you are under 18, be gone!
To the best of my knowledge, all models engaged in suggestive or sexual situations are over the age of 18, and I also deliberately exclude any which appear to show younger boys in innocent poses (such as the von Gloeden adolescent models) as I feel attaching those to a blog with ‘Erotic’ in the title gives entirely the wrong impression!

That these pictures feature almost exclusively white models is a regrettable sign of the times in which they were taken, not of any bias or discrimination on my part - it was a shamefully racist period in history and I must make it clear that I do not condone the racial discrimination in Victorian society, that by expressing a love for the era I am not endorsing the prejudiced morals and mistreatment of others then, and that I’m not attempting to present a sanitised, rose-tinted view of life in a previous century due to ignorance or disregard - I’m merely sharing one small aspect of what was then a new art form, not promoting attitudes of the era.

Finally, I must just add that whilst it is a collection mainly aimed at gentlemen who prefer gentlemen, and contains a proportion of homosexual pornography, I am not saying all the men featured on this blog were gay. Many photographs here are simply male nudes in artistic poses, which can be appreciated by all those who admire the masculine form - and the models’ own preferences are utterly unknown, and irrelevant. A great number of the fine fellows who chose to have studio portraits taken together are nothing more than devoted friends, even brothers perhaps. It would be foolish to view their closeness and intimacy with our modern sensibilities, to claim the pictures all record relationships of a sexual nature - the men of that era were more comfortable with displaying physical affection, with an embrace or holding of hands coming perfectly naturally and meaning nothing more than dear friendship.
